The size of that fish is 8 to 10 lbs. I've heard from many hard core bass fisherman in the Delta that the next record will be from the Delta. I've seen 18lbs caught in the delta few years ago. The size of it's eye is like a golf ball.

Really enjoying your blog... covet your experiences but don't have near enough time to consider it...

Have any books left? I need one.

My 10 year old and I just began the journey into hunting... but need serious help... :-)

Let me know if I can order a book - "Hunting Ducks and Geese, a guide to hunting waterfowl on California’s public areas"

So far, we've had unproductive experiences... and I just can't bring myself to spend $500 for a few hours of hunting... especially after tying up so much in the guns and gear already...

Thanks for a great site.

At 55 years old & quite a bit of money I could afford to pay to hunt as you suggest but see this just as hunting for those who have the money. Fortunately in Alberta there is lots of quality crown land just about everywhere (although you may have to search hard for access) where hunters are equal independent of their income. My hunting success always depended on my ability, not on the price of my gun, quad, motor home, etc. Of course, my cheap hunting has not given any income to a farmer - who makes money by farming - not raising wild animals for rich hunters to pay to hunt. We are now being gouged in Alberta to use the National parks and lake campgrounds (high fees) so only the rich can go camping. It was amazing to me last year to see the number of people just camped in the bush beside any stream. Yes I am blessed to live in Alberta. It doesn't get much better. Left for a bit & came right back.
Thanks,
TB

Still a respectable deer, and if you're like me, venison in the freezer is better than horns on the wall... maybe you didn't do quite what you set out for, but you did tag out. Pushing a little harder may well have blown out all the deer, and you'd have gone home empty handed.

Good stuff.

Great stories and history, I am going to be going to the Calif Fish and Game - Game Warden Academy in Jan of 2010 and if I make it through my first assignment is Livermore. I also have a real estate brokers license and my own company on the side.

How long did this partition action take? from time of filing to successful sale of the property (and what state was that in)

Phillip: I like it because I can plan early and get maximum anticipation. As we learn more about the unit, our chances of success increase.

Good luck up there! That's a heck of a hunt opportunity, and with the exception of this waxing moon, everything looks to be coming together.

Sounds like those landowner tags are the way to go in NV.
